Valerie Ramirez Mukherjee 10th District Republican Nominee, United States House of Representatives

Dear Fellow Republicans: In response to the unprecedented social isolation caused by governmental restrictions placed on individuals to mitigate the spread of the COVID-19 virus, I am organizing a volunteer based outreach program to all senior citizens in the 10th Congressional District. Research suggests loneliness impairs health by raising levels of stress hormones and triggering an inflammatory response, which in turn can increase the risk of heart disease, arthritis, type 2 diabetes and dementia, among other issues. Feeling lonely can also lead to anxiety and depression and an estimated 43 percent of seniors feel lonely on a regular basis. The purpose of each contact with senior citizens will be to engage them in a casual conversation regarding their current well-being and life experiences and to inquire if they have any advice as to governmental leaders that will be helpful in addressing the COVID-19 crisis. This will also serve as a wellness check and an opportunity to find out if they need anything so our office will work with them to find a solution. If you would like to help a few hours a week with this project while you are following the national STAY-AT-HOME directive, please reply to this email for more details on what we have in mind. Thank you for your service to the GOP and our community, please feel free to email me directly to get started checking in on our seniors throughout the 10th District: vrm@valforcongress.com. - Valerie Ramirez Mukherjee www.valforcongress.com Thank you for your continued support, stay safe and God Bless America!
